Social Bookmarking

I like the idea of social bookmarking since it gives me the opportunity to express my perspectives on information resources. The only drawback is that it is mostly done by amateurs so the resources may not be properly organized or properly tagged. For example , If I tag a site with information about "Homecoming", I also have to tag "home" and "coming home". If not, someone looking for information about a Welcome home reception may not find the correct information.
According to Lomas(2005) Tagging information resources with keywords has the potential to change how we store and find information.
Isn't there room for great confusion? Maybe they should hire some syracuse students to control the site?
