E-Passports ! Can you believe that?

I must say that this week was indeed an inspiring one for me. I could harly believe that over 25 countries now use E-passports to enter the US.If you missed that one then you should read Professor Todd's E-mail and you should visit http://news.com.com/RFID+passports+take+off/2100-7348-3-6130016.html
and read the latest news on this development.

Then, I must also tell you about a project that was developed with NASA so that the public could have more access to the large quantities of materials on the exploration of Mars. What we should realize is that because of the many new interactive technologies it is now easier to create environments in which students can learn by doing, and continually refine their understanding so they can build new knowledge. These concept maps show icons under some of the concepts. and even a list of resources related to that concept being displayed.

These attached resources can be located anywhere on the internet and can include other concept maps . This shows how concept-mapping has changed , and how the knowledge of experts can provide an effective knowledge based structure of information.

Do you think we will some day use concept maps to visualize our libraries ?

Take a trip to Mars today ! http://www.cmex.arc.nasa.gov

Hi Gloria,

I loved that article that Professor Todd sent us. We really use RFID more than we ever imagined.

I was interested to view the site on concept maps and Mars but my computer was unable to locate the server. Maybe the site is down at the moment. Even modern technology has its glitches. Once it is up and running I look forward to seeing how the concept maps are used and how I can show my students concept maps various uses.

I was not able to get to the site either. I tried to search within the NASA site, however I could not get to the site that has all the concept maps.
I did, however, enjoy your article. I like the idea of how concept maps can give a clear picture of a topic. I think this is exactly what our students need in order to truly organize their thoughts. This reminds me of a pathfinder I saw on a school site.
Looking forward to learning more.
